June Fairhead

June Fairhead holds a Diploma in Fine Art from Kingsway College, London, (1994) and a BA Hons. Degree from the Crawford College of Art and Design. She also studied Illustration at St. Johns College Cork.

​

Working from her studio in West Cork on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, her natural surroundings of the sea, sky, and weather are her greatest influences. She creates windows where the viewers can absorb that atmosphere.

In 2012 she won a purchase prize from the Office of Public Works, (OPW) Ireland for her work “Place” based on those surroundings which is now in the State Collection.

She has exhibited both nationally and internationally and her work is many private collections as well as The Bank of New York and the OPW.

​

She works in different mediums, predominantly, painting, photography and sometimes 3D and is represented by Paperworks Gallery New Zealand and the Cork Printmakers, Cork, Ireland
